Stepping up to the podium at 1:45pm on the day, on the Don’t Call Me Moses Presents: The Womxns Stage at Streetopia is none less than the fabulous Martin Luther Queen, Jr (aka Dumisa Lengwati)! Many thanks to this queen, and all the others that are joining her on the stage on the day – we’re looking forward to hearing & seeing how this powerhouse come together!


If you’ve been to AfrikaBurn, chances are you’d have caught this act on the Off-Centre Camp Stage – and we have the pleasure of wamkelekile’ing them right back to the streets of Obs! They are the amazing Bandless, they drop deeply infectious grooves – and you’ll be able to catch them on the Afroboratory Stage at 1:30pm. Thank you to Hlubi, Sibusiso and Sandile for joining us again, and for this shot of them in Tankwa Town.

The Shrine (With Respect to Fela)

Named in honour of the Lion of the Kalakuta Republic – Fela Anikulapo-Kuti – The Shrine’s set to shake what your mama gave ya, check it out! Massive gratitude to boss & minister of musical culture, Cuito Naude and everyone else involved in making this stage happen! The Shrine Stage Schedule: 10 am – 2pm: The Other Records 2pm to close: J-Cue Sibs Blaqkongo Keith Virgo Cuito (set times for this stage are subject to the creative whims of the performers – catch them on the fly, on the day)

Stepping up to take the first slot on The Shrine stage on the day will be the team from local Obs record store, The Other Records! Stay tuned for more info on the killer lineup that stalwart Cuito Naude has been wrangling – as always, you can be sure that he & his posse will be dropping a great selection of beats.
